Corporate Responsibility

We take our corporate social responsibility very seriously

Orbis is committed to meeting the highest ethical standards right across our company.

Our policies and guiding principles underpin our commitment to transparency, honesty, fair dealings and respect throughout our business activities. We focus on meeting the exact business standards demanded by water utilities and ensure that as a minimum we comply with the stringent international regulatory obligations that apply to our business.

We respect and comply with the law, and do not tolerate slavery, discrimination or corruption. We acknowledge our responsibilities towards the environment, our local communities and company stakeholders internal and external.

Diversity and employment

We meet the highest professional, legal, and ethical standards in the management of our teams. Orbis believes in equal opportunities for all and the value of being inclusive. We aspire to maintain a work environment that supports, inspires, and respects all of our colleagues, job applicants and clients. It is our expectation that all our colleagues are able to work in an environment free from harassment and discrimination. We also support employees’ health and mental well-being, facilitating a good work-life balance.

Orbis is an accredited Living Wage Employer through parent company Aquam Water Services. The UK Living Wage is an hourly rate based on the average cost of living in the UK, set independently and updated annually.

Community investment and social impact

Orbis will ensure that all company activities are conducted in such a way to cause minimum negative impact to members of the public. Our technological services and solutions are designed to minimise disruption to communities and improve the quality of water services to communities. We support strategic programmes of infrastructure maintenance helping to reduce leaks and bursts on the water network and improving water quality and services.

Our employees are all encouraged to support local charities and community activities, where possible. We believe in using our success in a positive way and supporting local initiatives.

Modern slavery

Orbis has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners. We expect them to adopt the same zero tolerance approach to the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children.

Ethics policy

Orbis stands firmly against bribery and corruption in all its forms. We expressly prohibit any form of bribe or kickback and we are committed to fully complying with the anti-corruption laws of all the jurisdictions in which we operate.
